We want you to feel welcome
It’s as simple as that. You are welcome at SpaceCadet regardless of race, ethnicity, country of origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, size, or ability. We are committed to anti-racism, believe that black lives matter, strive to create a space where everyone feels included and respected, and aim to reflect that in the images we use in our newsletter, the designers we work with, and the way we treat customers online and in our booth. You are welcome here.
We are particularly keen to promote the work of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Colour) and other marginalised designers and makers. We feature knitting and crochet designs regularly in our newsletter, offer yarn support for upcoming patterns and K/CALs, and work with makers to create custom gifts for our clubs. Please feel free to get in touch so that we can work together (seriously, we mean it, get in touch).
Designers
- If you have a new design that would be appropriate to be featured in our newsletter, please get in touch and let us know. The key things we’re looking for are interesting design elements (not necessarily complicated, just interesting) and really beautiful photography (so important!). We’ll need your permission to use your photos (off of Ravelry or your website) and we will credit you and link back to your pattern page in the feature.
- If you’d like to use SpaceCadet yarn in an upcoming design or KAL, please email us so we can discuss your project. The key to success, especially in creating kits for a KAL, is to get in touch as early in the process as possible so we have enough time to create the yarn and fully support your project.
Makers
We are always looking for interesting and exciting hand-crafted items to include as gifts in our club parcels. This is a great opportunity for us to introduce our club members to new products and new makers, so if you create something that you think would delight our club members, we’d like to talk to you!
The clubs have differing quantity requirements and budgets but, in both cases, we are looking for items that are hand-crafted, distinctive, and can be customised with the SpaceCadet (while still branded to your company). Past items have included stitch-markers, buttons, shawl pins, soaps, candles, notions bags, and project bags. Please email us with details of your product (a website address would be great!) and information on pricing, leadtime, and any quantity price breaks.
